Pac-12 Baseball: OSU swept by Sun Devils

TEMPE, Ariz. — Oregon State baseball lost 5-1 to Arizona State Saturday to claim a series sweep of the Beavers. OSU faltered all weekend when in the field with two outs, as Arizona State put up three two-out runs in the fifth inning of a 3-2 game two win 3-2 Friday, following OSU allowing seven two-out runs in Thursday’s series opener.

Oregon State (18-10; 6-5 Pac-12) plays single games Monday and Tuesday in Reno against the University of Nevada, with the opener today at 2 p.m. on 960 the Sports Legend.

Ducks Nearly Sweep UCLA

Oregon came up two runs shy of a series sweep of No. 5 UCLA, losing Saturday’s finale 8-6 to the Bruins in Los Angeles. The UCLA victory ended Oregon’s five-game winning streak, but the Ducks won the series to improve to 20-9 on the year and 8-4 in conference play.

Ducks starter Brando Tessar only finished four innings in his shortest outing of the year. The Ducks have the San Francisco Dons for two games Monday and Tuesday starting tonight at 6 p.m. in Eugene.
