OIT Round-Up: Softball moves to 30 wins

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Oregon Tech softball swept Concordia and Northwest Christian University in back-to-back doubleheaders this weekend, improving OIT to a 30-win total on the season.

Kayde Schaefer hit three two-run home runs in the Saturday senior day pair with NCU, helping the Owls to 10-5 and 8-5 wins. Melissa Logan, Janelle Cromie and Shauna Collins blasted home runs in the series also.

OIT has a five-game lead in the Cascade Conference standings, with the Owls playing Saturday at Corban.

Baseball Falls In Caldwell

Oregon Tech baseball allowed 23 hits in the series final against College of Idaho, with the Coyotes sweeping the series to take over first place in the NAIA West division. COI won Sunday’s games 6-0 and 17-3. Dustin Norman picked up three hits on three at-bats for OIT in the second loss.

The Owls now host Lewis-Clark State for four games over three days starting Friday in Klamath Falls. 960 the Sports Legend is expecting to broadcast two of the four games including Friday’s opener at 4 p.m.
