KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. — Finally the Oregon Tech softball team played a home game – sort of.
After the meeting between OIT and College of Idaho was delayed from Friday to Monday in order to improve field conditions in Klamath Falls, the teams finally played at Henley High School with the OIT softball complex still unplayable as of Monday morning.
Oregon Tech used six home runs over the doubleheader to win both meetings, first 5-3 and then 14-6. Cascade Conference Pitcher of the Week Taylor Schmidt pitched to wins in both games, almost shutting out the No. 20 Coyotes in the opener before a two-out home run by Hannah Johnson in the top of the seventh.
Janelle Cromie, Ashleigh Larson, Sara Coates and Amber Knight all homered for the Owls, boosting their record to 26-4 overall and 9-1 in conference.
OIT hosts Concordia Friday. The game is scheduled to be played on campus.
