EUGENE, Ore. — After each team’s Friday opener was rained out, both Oregon and Oregon State came back to win their respective series at home this weekend.

After 1-0 and 3-1 wins in Saturday’s doubleheader, No. 23 Oregon finished a sweep of No. 14 Arizona State when Jimmie Sherfy struck out Nathaniel Causey with the bases loaded to end the game in a 4-3 Ducks win.

Brando Tessar won the game on the mound to improve to 4-0. Aaron Jones was 2-for-3 from the plate with three RBI.

It was the third Oregon sweep of the season. The Ducks will open a three-game series with UCLA Thursday in Los Angeles.

In Corvallis, starter Jace Fry threw 110 pitches going seven innings for the win as No. 22 Oregon State won the series over Washington with a 5-3 victory. Tyler Smith’s single scored two runs to put the Beavers ahead in the fifth inning.
