EUGENE, Ore. — Four runs in the fifth inning propelled Oregon Tech softball to doubleheader wins over Northwest Christian Monday. The Owls won 7-4 and 9-7, as No. 5 OIT improved to 20-4 on the year.
Sara Coates hit a three-run home run for Tech, while pitcher Taylor Schmidt boosted her record to 10-2 on the year. Jess Plummer hit her conference-second-best eighth home run this season.
Oregon Tech was scheduled to play Southern Oregon Tuesday in Ashland at 2:00 PM, but weather conflicted says OIT promotions coordinator Mike Garrard.
The forecast in Ashland called for a 90 percent chance of rain with 19 mph winds. Game time for Wednesday is still 2:00 PM.
