CORVALLIS, Ore. — A first half lead dwindled for Henley’s girls basketball team before the Hornets rallied for a 40-37 overtime victory over Philomath and a trip to the state title game.
Henley saw a 24-19 edge go away after scoring just nine points the entire second half. The Hornets made both of its field goals in the extra period to win the game.
Henley now meets either Banks or Sutherlin in Saturday’s OSAA 4A Girls Basketball State Championship final at Gill Coliseum.
Elle Morgan scored 11 points for the Hornets and freshman Brittany Kochenderfer had her first final site double digit scoring game with 10 points.
Henley shot 24 percent in the third and fourth quarters after going 8-for-16 in the first half.
Tegan Grunwald had a game-high 16 points.
