POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. — In the second game for a Cascade Conference team in the opening session, the Warner Pacific Knights needed overtime to win a game in which it led the majority, beating No. 13 seed Indiana Wesleyan 79-76.
The Knights victory made the CCC 2-0 on the opening day of the NAIA Div. II Men’s Basketball National Championship, joining Northwest in the winning column.
Warner Pacific advances to meet either Cal-Maritime or Dordt (Iowa) on Friday morning at 8:30 AM Central Time.
In order to seal the win in a game that saw Warner Pacific lead 48-35 in the early second half, the Knights had to play an overtime period after closing regulation on a Traevone Bowie charging call and a 71-71 tie.
All the WPC starters went for double digits, led by Biniam Tadele’s 18 points.
