CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Henley Hornets girls basketball team used a strong finish to win 43-37 over Tillamook at the OSAA 4A State Championship Wednesday.
Henley advances to meet No. 8 Philomath on Friday at 1:30 PM in the state semifinals.
The No. 4 Hornets used a 10-0 run to close out the game, coming back from a deficit to get a chance at the state title game for second straight season.
Henley beat Crook County nearly identically in the same round at last year’s final site tournament, but lost to La Salle in the semis.
Allie Fahner scored 16 points and eight rebounds, making crucial free throws in a 5-for-6 performance from the line.
Freshman Brittany Kochenderfer put in nine points in her first state final site tournament appearance.
Tillamook was led by 18 points and seven rebounds from Cheyenne Hahn.
