OIT: Women lose; men start tonight

PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon Tech led early, but Warner Pacific built a 34-28 halftime lead and pulled away in the second half, netting a Cascade Conference tournament victory 76-58. The Lady Knights advance to Friday’s semifinals, while Oregon Tech’s season ends with a 21-10 record.

Aundrea Albright scored a game-high 21 points, with Kaitlin Nielsen adding eight points. Layne Tucker put in 16 points to lead Warner Pacific.

WP plays at Corban Friday, which beat The Evergreen State 60-48. College of Idaho hosts Eastern Oregon after wins over Southern Oregon and Northwest, respectively.

Cascade Conference Men’s Basketball

After leading Corban to a 90-79 win over Oregon Tech, Jordan Carter is the NAIA Division II Player of the Week. Carter scored 35 points in back-to-back nights, beating Southern Oregon on Friday before downing OIT on Saturday. He is just the second national player of the week in Corban men’s basketball history.

Corban did make the Cascade Conference tournament, which begins tonight. The Warriors are at Eastern Oregon, while Oregon Tech is the top overall seed, getting to play all three possible games at home, starting tonight hosting College of Idaho. Top six scorer Matt Ballenger is expected to play for COI after missing the last meeting between the two.

Southern Oregon is at Warner Pacific and Northwest welcomes in Concordia in the other quarterfinals match-ups. Winners plays Saturday.
