Jail levy will be before voters

commissioners 2012

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A $1.6 million levy affecting law enforcement will be on the May ballot after Klamath County Commissioners okayed the ballot measure yesterday. The three year levy would provide funds for the Klamath County Jail’s B pod and could prevent major cuts to the District Attorney’s office and juvenile department. The levy would mean for someone with a $200,000 home, they’d own an extra $80 in property taxes.
