Triad boys hoops wins GPA award

WILSONVILLE, Ore. — Triad boys basketball was honored Monday by the OSAA and the Dairy Farmers of Oregon, winning the Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic All-State Award.

Triad and Salem Academy had the highest boys hoops GPAs in the state at 3.83.

Lost River and Bonanza boys basketball each made the 2A top 10, with Lakeview in the 3A list.

The Triad girls basketball team finished tied with St. Paul for third with a 3.82 GPA, while the Lost River girls basketball team was a top 10 2A team with a 3.59 GPA. At the 4A level, Henley was seventh.

In swimming, the Klamath Union girls team had a 3.78 GPA, good for second place behind Central. Henley’s girls came in fourth tied with Phoenix. The Henley boys 3.46 GPA was good enough for a ninth-place tie with Cottage Grove.

The Henley cheerleaders also finished with a top 10 GPA at 3.22. Gilchrist had the top 2A/1A wrestling GPA.
