MEDFORD, Ore. — The Klamath Basin United Soccer Elite, a group of high school girls soccer players from Southern Oregon, opened up Oregon Premier League play by defeating Grants Pass Chaos 5-1 Sunday at US Cellular Field.
Goals by Karena Foust, Jackie Gardner and Hannah Daughty helped Basin United (1-0-0) open to a 3-0 first half lead.
An unassisted score followed by Tiffany Taylor’s first goal sealed the win for the Elite.
Durant and Taylor eacj finished the match with three points, with Durant assisting on Daughty’s score in the first and Taylor assisting on Foust’s.
Basin United plays again Saturday at US Cellular Field against Rogue Valley Soccer Club (0-0-0).
