Two subdivisions continue to raise concerns about herbicide used

KLAMATH COUNTY, Ore. – The problem of dying trees in two rural northern Klamath County subdivisions has gone all the way to the Governor. Residents of the Jack Pine Village and Riverpine Estates have petitioned Governor Kitzhaber, and blame the Klamath County Public Works Department and the herbicide they used in 2010 for problems with trees. Residents also say there are trace amounts of the herbicide in their wells, and neighbors have unexplained health issues. State agencies are investigating, and the County isn’t commenting.
