Second fund swap for the jail isn’t happening

budget woes

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Budget woes in Klamath County have been no secret, and county officials say it should be clear that given the current situation, they will only be able to fund one jail pod in the next fiscal year. There’s already a $1.6 million budget shortfall, and funding a second pod would put that number at $2.5 million. Last year’s fund swap with the City of Klamath Falls has kept the second pod open for a few months, and the city council said that was a one-time only deal.
