TULELAKE, Calif. — With the Skyline Conference getting the night off before it starts the second half of the league schedule Friday, the small classification schools are in the spotlight Tuesday.
It begins with the Tulelake Honkers, where the varsity teams are a combined 27-8. Surprise Valley visits tonight with the girls varsity game beginning at 5:00 PM.
Even with the 12-5 start, girls head coach Jim King knows there is work to be done for his young squad.

The Honkers are off a 48-47 win against Big Valley last Friday, notching Tulelake’s fourth straight victory. However, King acknowledges that Big Valley has made some changes that will improve its situation when the two meet again Feb. 10 at Tulelake.
Lost River at Chiloquin
The Lost River Raiders boys play at the Chiloquin Panthers tonight at 8:00 PM, seeking its third conference win of the year. On Jan. 13, Lost River won the first meeting 45-36 to open league play.
The Raiders girls are also leading the conference at 2-0, winners of four in a row. Lost River has beaten Chiloquin in the two prior meetings by a combined margin of 30 points. The girls play at 6:30 PM.
