Work done by county department heads may have helped budget

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – County leaders have adopted a budget resolution that cuts back on $500,000 in spending this year, trying to get ahead of the game now so maybe next year’s $1.6 million shortfall won’t be so bad. Department heads have been working together to share the burden of cutting back, and departments that can afford the cuts are taking them so others might be spared. Because of that, it looks like the sheriff’s office may be spared the deep cuts that were anticipated a few weeks ago.
