ATLANTA, Ga. — In a tight finish, the Atlanta Hawks beat Portland 92-89 in the NBA Wednesday. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 20 points; former Hawk Jamal Crawford had 22 against his former team.
Joe Johnson led Atlanta (11-4; 1st Southeast division) with 24 points.
Each team traded runs, with Atlanta taking control in the late third with a 14-0 run, but Portland (8-6; 4th Northwest) answered back in the early fourth outscoring the Hawks 13-0.
Portland’s Nicolas Batum was poked in the eye and did not return after leaving in the second quarter.
The Blazers finish its roadtrip Friday and Saturday at Toronto and Detroit respectively.
