KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – 960 the Sports Legend and Charter are proud to announce the Charter Student Athletes of the Month with the selection of winners from December.
Oregon Tech’s Colleen Hunt and Lost River High School’s Chance McAuliffe were selected and will receive a prize package and an invitation to appear on the Basin’s live, local sports talk show, Goofing Around at Lunch, on January 13.
Hunt is a junior for the Oregon Tech women’s basketball team, helping the Lady Owls to its best start in school history with a 16-3 record through January 9. Hunt holds a 4.0 GPA in her Communications studies while playing all three years for OIT’s basketball team. This season, Hunt is averaging 8.1 points per game and has started in all 19 of the team’s games.
McAuliffe is a senior on the 2A Lost River boys basketball team, which has started the year 12-3, including victories over 4A schools Henley and Klamath Union en route to a fourth place finish at December’s Basin’s Best basketball tournament. A keen three-point shooter, McAulliffe is a double-digit scorer most nights for Lost River. The Raiders have won 10 of its last 11 games.
Each student is expected to receive an Applebee’s gift certificate as well as an additional gift certificate from Legacy Furniture/Bedroom Gallery during the January 13 edition of Goofing Around at Lunch at Applebee’s on Campus Drive in Klamath Falls.
The Charter Student Athletes of the Month are selected by 960 the Sports Legend from nominations by the community, athletic directors and/or knowledge of athletic achievements. Please send nominations for your selection to email@example.com.
