Klamath Falls – While most Salvation Army Bell Ringers collect loose change and bills in their collection kettles, one – working outside the Klamath Falls Fred Meyer store – got a surprise yesterday (12/14/11) when he found a silver coin among the collections. Dave Clawson who has been collecting donations for three years “got quite a shock when he counted his receipts for the day and found the one ounce silver coin,” said Debbie Leighton, service extension representative of the Salvation Army in Southern Oregon. The Salvation Army begins distribution of gifts to needy families Monday and Tuesday which represents the culmination of the Christmas season.
